The Colleague Experience Group (formerly HR) is focused on providing a great Colleague Experience every day. Our mission is to obsess over understanding the Colleague Experience at a deeper level to co-create simple and great ways of working that enable everyone to be and deliver their best.

As the Colleague ExperienceStrategic Partner / Advisor, you will be a key player in driving the overall Colleague Experience for our Australia and New Zealand based colleagues through:

  • Growing the best talent, captivating diverse and emerging talent, developing outstanding leaders, and ensuring colleague growth and performance through meaningful development opportunities and experiences.
  • Delivering a great Colleague Experience that elevates our culture of inclusion and diversity and allows our colleagues and company to thrive, change, colleague risk and regulation, and Amex Flex (our hybrid/virtual way of working).
  • Developing new ways of working to unlock enterprise value, focusing on continuous improvement and innovation, and crafting an environment where well-being is a focus for all colleagues.

This role reports to the Director of Colleague Strategic Partners (HR) for Australia and New Zealand, and will work closely with HR team members within the market and globally, which prides itself on its expertise and collaborative spirit.

Key Responsibilities:

This role supports the Australia and New Zealand Colleague Strategy by:

  • Leading the development and delivery of key projects and impactful programs supporting local and global CEG priorities, partnering with key collaborators across CEG (including Centres of Excellence) and the business.
  • Partnering with business leaders and teams to support their strategic colleague needs, including organisational change support.
  • Leading the analysis and insights of trends across the full colleague lifecycle, including our Colleague Experience Survey, ensuring we remain future focused and informed by data and facts.
  • Identifying difficulties in colleague processes, developing recommendations, and implementing solutions that focus on improvement, innovation and agility.
  • Supporting the design and execution of colleague and leader communications, presentations and engagement forums.
  • Supporting strategic external branding initiatives (workplace/employer awards), global and locally driven diversity and inclusion initiatives, as well as internal branding at the market level.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in Human Resources, with broad knowledge of HR generalist processes and practices.
  • Demonstrated project management skills: ability to handle multiple, complex projects, events, and tasks, and prioritise accordingly, with a proven track record to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent relationship and interpersonal skills, including the ability to work collaboratively, build relationships and demonstrate them to drive outcomes.
  • Excellent communication skills: able to cascade complex messages in simple form and tailor messages to audience, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrates a keen curiosity about understanding the business, market trends and financial drivers in the industries in which American Express competes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; uses data insights and trends to inform and influence. Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, to navigate Excel formulas and pivot tables in Excel and navigate PowerPoint tools to build visually meaningful presentations and content.
