Our Commercial and Contracts department here at WesTrac have an opportunity for a Specialist - Major Accounts to join our team based in South Guildford.
In this role, you will be responsible for working with the Sales, Operations, Technology and Legal Teams to provide support and guidance to the deal team for tenders and post-award contract negotiation process for the Company’s Major Accounts. Post contract execution, this role takes joint responsibility for the management of all related contracts, to ensure delivery of contractual obligations, risk mitigation and achievement of optimal commercial outcomes.
The Specialist will work closely with the business in engaging with internal and external stakeholders, whilst providing support, challenge, insight, and recommendations on commercial and contractual matters. The role will develop trusted relationships and pursue win-win solutions, while looking for improvements across the value chain.
Key Accountabilities:
- Manage the pre and post award contract negotiation process to support the business in achieving its sales contracting objectives, in compliance with company benchmarks.
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance of contractual deliverables and obligations in line with the Company policies and risk management.
- Provide guidance to the business in the interpretation of contractual terms and conditions, identification and assessment of risks and make recommendations to maximise commercial opportunities.
- Act as a point of contact for internal legal consultation on commercial and contractual matters.
- Work closely with both internal and external customers to enhance customer experience and to drive continuous improvement in contracting disciplines.
- Develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships across business is key to the success of this role working with both internal and external customers.
- Proactively manage risks and opportunities in relation to the customer contracts and also internal customers’ operational process and governance for future improvement.
To be successful the following is required:
- Degree qualified in Engineering, Commerce, or Legal discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Extensive contract management experience with an in-depth understanding and appreciation of commercial, financial and advanced contracting concepts.
- Demonstrate understanding of project management and risk management for reviewing and drafting of work scopes and customer correspondence to assist operations, variations, and claims.
- Extensive experience in interdepartmental stakeholders engagement, customer facing and negotiation process at the specialist level.
- Commercially savvy and able to optimise commercial value and drive improvements across the value chain.
- Professional attitude and experience in the developing of internal and external customer networks to create positive relationships and achievement of collaborative solutions.
- Experience in reporting on contract metrics, deliverables and commercial performance.
- Experience in the drafting and review of letters, variations, and scope of work documents.

Roster: Monday to Friday 8.5hrs (Permanent Full-Time)
