The South West Gateway Alliance (SWGA), comprising of Main Roads, Acciona, NRW Contracting, MACA Civil, AECOM and Aurecon, is delivering the $1.25 billion Bunbury Outer Ring Road project. SWGA will design and construct 27 kilometres of rural highway and local government roads from Forrest Highway near Australind to Bussell Highway, South of Bunbury. The project is forecast for completion in 2024.
SWGA is currently recruiting for a Commercial Manager. As an Alliance Management Team (AMT) position, this role will oversee all project commercial activities including procurement, contracts administration, and finance.

What we are looking for:
Reporting to our Alliance Director, the role of the Commercial Manager will:
- Oversee and the lead the projects overall commercial strategy including the Project Alliance Agreement (PAA), Procurement, Contracts Management and Finance activities
- Lead a number of direct reports (3 direct; 15+ indirect) whilst providing leadership and support across the commercial function
- Prepare and deliver month end reporting and contract valuations with the Alliance leadership teams and Non-Owner Participants (NOP’s)
- Manage and report on key result areas for the Alliance including local spend, aboriginal spend, sustainability and community targets
- Manage and coordinate a range of subcontractors, suppliers and project partners to deliver commercially viable project outcomes whilst ensuring positive local working relationships
- Actively lead and participate in Alliance Leadership Team meetings and forums proactively looking at de-risking and opportunities for the project
- Direct and lead the projects strategy for the supply chain including optimisation of cost, quality and safe sustainable practices. Prepare and present options and recommendations to the Alliance that maximise local spend and ROI associated with the Alliance purchasing power.
- Identify bottlenecks and process inefficiencies and provide solutions to improve the quality of delivery
- Provide regular reporting and feedback to the Alliance Director and ALT on overall team progress, budgets, operations and overall performance

What are we looking for?
- Previous experience in a senior leadership role with relevant construction project experience backed by formal tertiary qualifications in a related field.
- Previous Alliance and/or collaborative commercial contracting management experience will be highly regarded
- Demonstrated ability to lead with influence and actively model our Alliance values and behaviours
- Ability to work collaboratively and positively with a range of internal customers and external suppliers.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to problem solve and influence outcomes and change
