Job description

About Great River City Light Rail

Western Sydney is one of the fastest growing regions in our country, with the population of Greater Parramatta alone set to climb by 50 per cent by 2041 and at Great River City Light Rail we want to create new communities, connect great places and help locals and visitors move around and explore what the region has to offer. The new Light Rail will connect Westmead to Carlingford via the Parramatta CBD and Camellia, spanning 12 kilometres and utilising state-of-the-art vehicles that delivers comfortable, user-friendly and high-performance services. By 2026, around 28,000 people will use Parramatta Light Rail every day and an estimated 130,000 people will be living within walking distance of Light Rail stops.

The role

You will have the opportunity to thrive in a role with a wide reach and a lot of variety – spanning the commercial relationships with the client, major subcontractors, third parties. The activities range from taking the lead in drafting effective responses to important contractual correspondence, to working as part of a team on major complex disputes, to developing pricing models for modifications with the client and negotiating an outcome. Working in close proximity to the Light Rail network, you’ll be able to see and touch the commercial issues that you are working on, with the ability to spend time at the depots, operations centre and on the vehicles

What you bring

In addition to tertiary qualifications (commerce, engineering, law or related), your recent experience will include working in a commercial function within high value contracts (infrastructure projects or operations pref.) This will be supported by your ability to build and maintain effective client relationship with a focus on commercial outcomes. Equally important is your ability to manage competing priorities in a deadline driven business whilst maintaining compliance and quality with attention to detail.

The benefits for you

In return, we offer competitive pay and benefits and a positive culture that embraces diversity and employee feedback. We genuinely invest in our people and the work you carry out at Transdev touches the lives of your family, friends and future generations alike.
