You will be part of the Strategic Communication and Engagement Branch which provides professional and strategic communication and engagement services to the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works. You will use your communication, organisational and Design skills to assist the team to deliver quality strategic communication services and advice that support the department’s delivery of its objectives and priorities.

Due to recent Machinery of Government changes, this department is now called The Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works.
As the Communication and Design Officer, Strategic Communication you will play an important role in supporting the Branch's strategic communication activities and materials to ensure delivery of strategically focused projects, informed by consumer insights and best practice. You can expect to be involved in;

• Preparing a range of contemporary communication products to support departmental initiatives and programs.
• Using your demonstrated written communication skills to research, write and edit a range of communication resources to a high standard, including digital content, communication collateral and presentations.
• Supporting Strategic Communications public and community engagement activities including sponsorships.
• Using your demonstrated knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications to assist the Design team to produce a range of publications including brochures, presentations, newsletters, information flyers and graphics for print and online publication as required.
• Assist in maintaining the department's photo library and other graphic databases for graphic design and multimedia projects.
• Provide business support as required.
