Join our team as a Communications Lead in the Torres Strait Islands Region and be part of our vibrant community. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in managing our public reputation and communications. Your focus will be on leading a talented team, overseeing graphic design, media content, and website management.
Reporting to the Manager, Administration and Communication, you’ll engage in strategic planning, providing expert advice on media, marketing, and digital trends. Your role is essential in ensuring our services align with the Council’s vision, mission, and values, fostering consistency across diverse channels.
Your leadership extends to building relationships with local media, stakeholders, and government departments, reinforcing trust and reliability.
To thrive in this role, you’ll bring demonstrated experience in team leadership, integrated communications strategies, and a high level communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of Torres Strait languages, including Meriam Mer, Kala Lagaw Ya, and Creole, is highly desirable.
Work from Cairns or any of the Torres Strait Islands.
