About the Roles
Communications Lead
Join our team as a Communications Lead in the Torres Strait Islands Region and be part of our vibrant community. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in managing our public reputation and communications. Your focus will be on leading a talented team, overseeing graphic design, media content, and website management. Reporting to the Manager, Administration and Communication, you’ll engage in strategic planning, providing expert advice on media, marketing, and digital trends. Your role is essential in ensuring our services align with the Council’s vision, mission, and values, fostering consistency across diverse channels. Your leadership extends to building relationships with local media, stakeholders, and government departments, reinforcing trust and reliability. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring demonstrated experience in team leadership, integrated communications strategies, and a high level communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
Corporate Planning and Performance Lead
We are currently seeking a qualified and experienced individual for the role of Integrated Corporate Planning and Performance Lead. Reporting to the Manager, Administration and Communication the primary objective of this position is to establish, embed, and facilitate an integrated Corporate Planning And Performance framework within the Council. Key responsibilities include supporting the Council in strategic planning, aligning people, systems, and culture around objectives, and ensuring effective integration of the Council’s strategic portfolio. The Lead will also develop planning tools, facilitate workshops, and oversee an annual integrated planning cycle. Performance-related tasks include creating key performance indicators, monitoring Council’s performance, and producing reports. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in leading the organisation in integrated Planning And Performance management. We’re looking for someone with a friendly attitude, equipped with a graduate qualification in business administration, law, human resources, or a related discipline, or significant experience in integrated Corporate Planning, strategy, And Performance.
Work from Cairns or any of the Torres Strait Islands. Knowledge of Torres Strait languages, including Meriam Mer, Kala Lagaw Ya, and Creole, is highly desirable.
