About the opportunity
The Communications Manager is a key senior communications advisor for the Library. The role is responsible for communications support and advice as well as brand positioning and advocacy with visitors, stakeholders and the community.
Working closely with the Branch Head and the Marketing Manager, the Communications Manager contributes to delivering integrated marketing and communications activities for the organisation.
The role oversees a team of communications professionals, providing leadership and direction for the creation of high-quality, informative, engaging content that supports the audience objectives, brand principles, marketing campaigns and key projects.
About you
The ideal candidate is an experienced people leader and motivator, with solid ability to drive strategic communication and to produce content that is relevant, timely and tailored to its target audience.
In addition, you will come to us with:
- Tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, journalism or related discipline, or equivalent industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience in a senior advisory capacity, providing subject matter expertise to inform decisions and strategies to senior stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience in creating and leading communications strategies and engaging content, preferably in a cultural or government institution.
- A solid track record of leading communications initiatives for outstanding reputation profiling, brand positioning and advocacy.
- Demonstrated experience leading and motivating a team to deliver quality operational outcomes.
- A proven track record of success in establishing and maintaining outstanding relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders. including strong connections with key media contacts.
