The Department

ALC produces radio, online, podcast and social media content primarily in languages other than English. The brands include SBS Audio, SBS Arabic24, SBS PopAsia, SBS PopDesi and SBS Chill.

The Role

Reporting into the Head of Community Activation and Engagement, the SBS Audio Community Engagement Activations Manager will play a key role in delivering exceptional event activation in line with our content and Community Engagement strategy, to help deliver on SBS Audio’s goals to deepen engagement with communities and grow audiences.

This role requires an organised person who is meticulously prepared and has a strong sense of logistical planning.

The main responsibilities include:

  • Develop and execute creative brand activations and event solutions, from large scale festivals to community activation and stakeholder events
  • Work closely with all key stakeholders and internal teams to prepare and deliver creative event ideas and opportunities and oversee the success of each project.
  • Ability to conceptualise and implement digitally led activation projects
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with event organisers to provide ongoing opportunities.
  • Track delivery of key event KPIs

It is a requirement of this role that incumbents are fully vaccinated with an approved Covid-19 vaccination in line with the ATAGI guidelines which include booster shots. We do however have a medical exemption process and we would be happy to discuss your application should this be applicable to you.

About you

  • Have a positive and social able personality and enjoy meeting people.
  • Have around 3-5 years of event planning and project management experience including budget management, logistics and are meticulously prepared.
  • Undertake responsibility for the creation, planning and activation of strategic campaigns and community events, ensuring they are on brand, on time and within budget
  • Have an appreciation of working closely with all key stakeholders and internal teams to prepare and deliver creative event ideas and opportunities and oversee the success of each project.  
  • Can demonstrate an understanding and awareness of market trends and tactics in the live events space, social media, and experiential spaces
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of workplace safety and possess a current First Aid Certificate and Working with Children check and driver’s license.
  • Available to work most weekends.
  • Enjoy working in a busy little activations team, working collaboratively sharing ideas and of course working to those all-important timelines and planning ahead!  
  • Understand the value of unique content and how it can be shared.
