Community Intake Coordinator

  • Work from home options | Full-time Contract (12 months)
  • Western Sydney Location | Offices in Parramatta, 2150 and Rooty Hill, 2766
  • Competitive Salary: SCHADS 4 – 5 ($41.52 - $49.65) + super + NFP salary sacrifice, salary is based on experience and qualifications.
Beaumont People are excited to be partnering with a dynamic, purpose-driven community organisation in search of an energetic Community Intake Coordinator with a strong trauma-informed background. This is an exciting opportunity to engage with vulnerable clients requiring complex support, oversee a dedicated team of volunteers, and provide intake and referral support for a fast-paced legal centre.
  
About the Organisation:
The Western Sydney Community Legal Centre (WSCLC) supports individuals facing vulnerable or disadvantaged situations who are unable to successfully navigate the NSW justice system.
  
WSCLC is transforming the way it delivers services for vulnerable people and committed to working with the community to provide increased access and support to navigating the complexity of the social justice system. Our services are focused in the areas of domestic violence, support of children in the Court systems, facilitating visits between children and parents, tenancy, home building and general legal issues.

In this role you will:
  • Provide culturally safe, trauma-informed intake services for all clients entering the community legal centre.
  • Maintain clear and detailed client records and ensure all data entry is accurate and up to date.
  • Manage potential complex client situations and respond effectively with empathy and understanding.
  • Make appropriate referrals to support services specific to the client’s needs.
  • Oversee and support a small team of volunteers to complete essential tasks and provide on the job training.
  • Build relationships and effective referral pathways with internal and external stakeholders.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • Some experience working with vulnerable people experiencing hardship through a trauma-informed, culturally sensitive approach.
  • A keen interest in working within the community services space and supporting our vulnerable community members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to engage with a variety of stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to be resilient, effective, and adaptable during periods of change and in a fast-paced work environment.
  • Strong administrative skills and attention to detail.
  • A friendly, approachable, and empathetic demeanour, especially when interacting with clients.
  • Comfortable working in a social justice and welfare environment and handling challenging behaviours.
  • A Degree Qualification or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work, Social Welfare, Community services or related discipline would be highly regarded but not essential
