Due to our continuing growth, we have the opportunity to employ another integral team member to join our National Compliance and Systems team as our Compliance Officer. The role is full-time and is based at our service facility in Craigieburn, Victoria. The Compliance Officer’s role is to provide support and assistance to Management in the delivery of quality and compliance activities in accordance with the organisations strategic plan and objectives.
Key tasks
- Assist in the timely and effective delivery of compliance activities in line with VDI’s operating plan and strategic initiatives.
- Assist in the documentation of management system procedures, standard operating procedures, and work instructions in accordance with VDI’s one-best-way approach to systems documentation.
- Assist in the preparation of tender responses, including technical specification schedules and commercial responses.
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of technical service bulletins and production and service work instructions that deliver clear messaging with appropriate use of vernacular.
- Conduct risk assessments for WHS and commercial activities, and identify suitable control measures to eliminate, mitigate or reduce risk.
- Conduct incident investigations, including root cause analysis, and develop, implement, and monitor corrective actions as a result of WHS or quality incident investigations and assess corrective action effectiveness.
- Assist in the coordination and delivery of preventive maintenance programs for all VDI sites.
- Actively and effectively identify opportunities for improvement and propose activities for continuous improvement of compliance processes.
The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the skills and experiences below -
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a demonstrated experience in technical writing.
- Working knowledge of safety management, risk management, and quality management systems.
- Qualification or experience in quality management or safety management system auditing.
- Understanding of Chain of Responsibility and WHS legislation.
- The ability to work independently and collaboratively to achieve strategic outcomes.
- Technical understanding of heavy vehicles, including construction, assembly, and servicing.
