We are currently seeking an experienced and organised Compliance/Complaints Officer, responsible for implementing a compliance framework to capture relevant Australian regulatory obligations pertaining the financial services sector. You must be passionate about providing exceptional customer service, timely and empathetic with a strong attention to detail to thoroughly investigate complaints and resolve them in a mutually beneficial outcome.

Duties & responsibilities:
Complaints:
- Investigate complaints for internal dispute resolution.
- Complaint handling via phone and in writing
- Respond and resolve within time frames in an empathetic manner.
- Submission of ASIC Complaint reports
Compliance:
- Assist in the development of our compliance process, including licence requirements and reporting.
- Provide compliance advice on regulatory matters.
- Monitor and improve compliance systems.
- Organise and prepare reports for internal Compliance Committees and the Board of Directors
- Assist in the establishment of policies, processes, and reporting mechanisms for compliance across the business.
- Advise and review incidents and breaches, including issue remediation and conflict of interest.
- Analyse and provide guidance on regulatory obligations.
- Support the development of a healthy compliance culture.
- Ensure the business meets licence and regulatory obligations of APRA, ASIC, OAIC, AUSTRAC, FSC, and others.
- Offer comprehensive guidance for compliance with changing regulatory requirements.
Experience & attributes:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a compliance and/or disputes role (AFSL and/or ACL experience highly regarded)
- Knowledge of regulatory bodies (e.g. APRA, ASIC, AOIC, AUSTRAC, ACMA) policy and guidelines
- Experience in producing submissions to external bodies such as ASIC, APRA, and AFCA
- Experience in producing Board and Committee reporting.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build relationships & influence stakeholders.
- Self-motivation and ability to manage workloads to a defined set of deliverables with minimal direction.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications.
- Ability to identify risk areas and solutions.
- Ability to balance risk-based vs. commercial-based thinking.
- Keen problem-solving skills.
