Job description

CONFIDENT JUNIOR LAWYER | PROPERTY, CONVEYANCING, COMMERCIAL & FAMILY LAWYER |   Full-Time

**************************************************************************************************************

  • Boutique Modern Firm
  • Positive Energetic Environment
  • Flexible Work Arrangements Available
  • Brand New Cremorne Office
  • Exciting / Fun Team

THE FIRM

ZD Legal is a unique and dynamic boutique law firm based out of Richmond in Melbourne, soon to be relocating to a brand new multi-level office in Cremorne (fit-out commenced, move in est. late Feb).

Lead by a young and vibrant female Principal, ZD Legal practices most prevalently in the specialty areas of criminal defence and traffic,commercial litigation, corporate advisory, Property & construction and Family Law, with a new opportunity now arising to straddle the conveyancing and property divisions with your breadth of experience in other such areas of migration, wills & estates and/or commercial advisory.

With the firm already set to grow exponentially over the next 12-months, ZD Legal presents a rare opportunity in a typically very traditional  industry, as we look to recognize and support those willing to stand out and back themselves, by doing things a little less “ordinary”.

THE ROLE

A unique and exciting opportunity for a driven, assertive and strong-minded young lawyer who is proficient and confident in their experience across multiple practice areas set to be your primary focus, including Property & Construction, Conveyancing, Commercial Litigation and Family Law (noting familiarity or experience in  other practice areas such as Criminal Law, Traffic, Wills & Estates and/or Migration is also strongly encouraged, but not mandatory).

If you are looking for a giant leap forward in your career and possess the initiative, drive and a quick-wit - then this role will take you further, faster.

For the right candidate, this position can present unlimited potential for growth, personally, professionally and financially, with substantial incentives and bonus structure that rewards the individual and the team's overall success, together.

Joining a small but growing team you must possess the initiative and capability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment, whilst also ready to continue learning and contributing to the success of the firm as a team, alongside the Principal, ZD Legal is your “not-so-typical” opportunity with a firm that is anything but ordinary

EXPERIENCE, QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Successful applicants should also possess the following attributes:

Mandatory

  • Current practicing certificate;
  • Minimum 1 year PAE experience as a solicitor acting in all types of matters  across your primary practice areas at ZD Legal, including Conveyancing, Property, Family Law, and/or Wills & Estates (or a minimum of 18 months to 2 years PAE where experience more generalised);
  • Proficient in the end-to-end conveyancing process for significant high-value residential and commercial property transactions;
  • Experience drafting, advising and appearing in court for various Family Law proceedings, applications for intervention, parenting and property orders;

WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU?

A better work-life balance than your average law firm, including:

  • Flexible office / home office / WFH arrangements available as appropriate.
  • Opportunity to closely work with an experienced and independently established Principal and Solicitor Advocate, acutely specialised in multiple areas including criminal defence & traffic, Property & construction, and corporate commercial litigation & advisory;

  • Base salary between $90,000 to $110,000 p.a. full-time (commensurate with experience);
