Your new role
This is a key position within the Research Services and Systems Team, and a great opportunity to work in a values-based, friendly, flexible and collaborative work environment at the University. Reporting to the Director of Research Services, you will be accountable for leading a high-performing Contracts and Commercial team that provides contracts and commercial services to Curtin’s research community.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide expert advice, support and guidance in relation to all contract and commercial matters, to inform effective risk management and mitigation decisions within a commercial context.
- Represent Curtin in external contract and commercial negotiations, develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including industry partners, government agencies and funding bodies.
- Demonstrate values-based leadership in leading and developing Contacts and Commercial Team members.
- Collaborate with the University's Legal Services team to ensure that the development, review and negotiation of research and commercial services contracts for Curtin University are completed with professional skill and diligence, and comply with applicable laws and regulations.
- Ensure that all contracts and agreements are managed efficiently and effectively, including maintaining accurate records and tracking key deadlines.
- Continuously evaluate and improve processes and procedures to ensure that the Contracts & Commercial team provides high-quality, responsive, and effective service to the university's research community.
