The roles, responsibilities and duties of a Security Officer can be performed in many different sectors and varying roles. This Position Description outlines the general duties in line with specific role types and acts as a guide rather than a comprehensive list of tasks.
Operational Duties- Control room operations in a busy 24hr campus environment
- Alarm monitoring and response
- CCTV monitoring, footage review and download
- Incident management coordination
- Detailed incident reporting in a prompt and thorough manner
- Escalation of significant incidents to the appropriate MSS manager and/or client representative
- Delivery of on the job training for new staff
- Compliance with all standard operating procedures and local instructions
- Completion of all logs and registers accurately and to a high quality standard
- Performing security officer duties on other areas of the campus as required according to the roster or management request
- Ensuring radio communications are delivered effectively and in line with correct procedure
- Conducting welfare checks via radio as required
Client Relationships
- Managing and responding to client queries and complaints in a prompt and professional manner
- Ensuring client is notified of relevant incidents promptly in consultation with MSS supervisor/manager
- Provision of reports as required
OHS
- Taking responsibility for safety in your work area including hazard reporting and participation in investigations as required
- Reporting of any safety concern or incident promptly
General- Conduct and behaviour must be of a high standard at all times
- Working collaboratively and professionally with all team members
- Other duties as reasonably requested by a Supervisor or Manager
