CONVEYANCING POSITION – OPEN TO PARALEGALS/LAW STUDENTS/SECRETARIES
Dillon Bowers Lawyers is a well-established highly regarded Townsville firm specialising in Native Title, Property and Commercial law, Wills and Estates, and Litigation.
We are seeking applicants for a full-time paralegal position who will have a focus on conveyancing and property matters. From time to time the successful applicant may be asked to assist in other areas subject to conveyancing workloads.
There may be flexibility regarding hours/work location to fit in with parenting or study commitments.
Whilst our preference would be for persons with some experience in conveyancing, we will consider applicants who may have some alternative experience that would allow them to be trained as a paralegal (eg. a law student expected to finish their degree in 2024/25; residential tenancy property managers; highly organised persons with excellent secretarial, administrative skills and communication skills).
It is essential that the applicant be highly organised, self-driven, proactive and have an excellent attention to detail.
Quality training and supervision will be provided as required.
For law students, we offer the possibility of further graduate opportunities, PLT placements and the possible employment as a solicitor after a minimum period of 2 years employment in the paralegal role.
Primary responsibilities of the successful applicant will include:
- Preparing residential land contracts;
- Conducting due diligence checks and searches;
- Drafting correspondence, preparing transfer documentation and settlement calculations;
- Liaising with clients, financiers, solicitors and regulatory bodies;
- Attending settlements; and
- Experience with PEXA and eConveyancing will be highly regarded.

- Professional presentation and good communication skills;
- Excellent time management and organisational skills; and
- (Law Students will ideally have completed land/ property law and have an above-average GPA).
