With takeaway and tables available, stop in to fuel up for your day, or regroup over a casual lunch. Open seven days a week, we’re always stocked with soups, sandwiches, sausage rolls, pies and cakes – all the wine country cravings you’re after.
We are currently looking for an experienced cook / chef to join our Lovedale Café team, full-time.
You’ll have an awesome attitude and easy-going personality. We want friendly, upbeat and energetic team members who aren't afraid to think outside the box. Your passion for simple food done well will ensure you do well in this role. Confidence, the ability to multitask and a friendly disposition are essential. We want a team who takes their work seriously, but not themselves!
The right applicant will be first and foremost experienced, able to work fast while maintaining quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- You will be required to prepare food items for our counter, cafe menu
- Understanding of food cost and production
- An eye for detail with food presentation and portioning is essential
- Collaborate with the staff to maintain a smooth and efficient operation.
- Follow food safety and hygiene protocols to guarantee the health and safety of our patrons.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean and organised kitchen space.
Skills & experience
- Full availability across a 7 day roster and requires early morning starts from 6:00am
- A passion for food and presentation
- Excellent team work and an upbeat personality
- Professional communication skills
- Undertake all duties politely and honestly
- Reliable and Punctual with attendance
- Friendly and cooperative
- Own transport
- At least 2-3 years' experience in fast paced kitchen environment
- Trade cooking qualifications are essential (Certificate 111/IV in Commercial Cookery) or working towards.
