About the Role
Austal are looking for a Facilities Coordinator who will be accountable for monitoring of cleaning standards, facility maintenance, plant and equipment maintenance schedule, contractor management, Project Management of small to medium facility works, and the provision of security of the Cairns premises and facilities as well as any other duties arising from the use of the premises.
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
Security and Emergency Response
- To be responsible for the key holding, security and health and safety aspects of the premises and its contents.
- Rapid response to all site wide reactive and emergency issues appropriately as they arise.
Waste and Environmental Management
- Work with the operational teams ensure that all utilities are optimised to deliver the required environmental performance ratios
- Assist in sustainability audits, including providing information and reports for and liaising with consultants
- Maintain statutory required works permits, as required.
Facility Service Contracts
- Deliver cost effective site services through 3rd parties to ensure that the Austal buildings remain safe, well maintained and audit compliant.
- Audit all internal and contracted works to agreed levels of completion and compliance
Building and Equipment Maintenance
- Assist in the development of short- and long-term programs associated with the building services and facilities of Austal, Cairns. This includes management of a capital works program and ongoing maintenance requirements in conjunction with the Facilities Manager.
Tasking
- Timely placement of inter-departmental work orders/requisitions
- Provide visible leadership to support a ‘safety first’ culture by ensuring that risks are assessed
- Allocation of HSEQ requirements and responsibilities
- Promote and implement continual improvement initiatives through corrective actions arising from incidents or non-conformances
Monitoring
- Resource balancing
- Parts and material flow in accordance to schedule
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
- Project Manament Training
- Developed leadership skills
- Front line management course (desired)
- Senior First Aid (desired)
