About the position
At the City of Bayswater we are passionate about our trees and streetscapes, and have made a commitment to preserving and growing our tree canopy to benefit our community and future generations, as well as creating and maintaining a ‘Garden City’ for all to enjoy. For this important work.
We are seeking a Coordinator Tree Services, who is an enthusiastic Arborist with substantial experience in team leadership. If you excel at managing trees, people and have extensive experience in professional communication, we invite you to apply to join the City. In this role, you will provide expert advice on holistic tree management, contribute to the maintenance and enhancement of our extensive urban forest, and play a key role in rejuvenating the City’s streetscapes.
About the person
We are looking for someone that has the necessary qualifications and experience in the Arboriculture consulting field, or has been engaged in employment similar to this position. They will have excellent knowledge of tree species and their physiology, as well as diagnostic skills to identify structural problems, pathogens and harmful insect infestations.
The person will also have flair to know what is required to rejuvenate the City’s streetscapes including a good understanding of native plants and their use within this difficult environment. They will also have the ability to positively engage with customers in the community and within the organisation, including influencing policy and decision making relating to tree management. The successful applicant will be able to lead and work cooperatively with others to create a high performing Tree Services team that takes pride in what they do and together, create a group identity characterised by the City’s values.
