The Opportunity
Bhagwan Marine is seeking the services of an experienced Cost Accountant to join the growing Finance team located in the Perth CBD.
Candidates should have excellent time management skills and be able to prioritise and adjust to the dynamic changes that affect the industry.
Your duties will include but not limited to:
- Work with Project Managers to understand project performance, ensuring projects are updated with variations or changes in estimation to complete.
- Work closely with the project team to prepare accurate cost and revenue forecasts.
- Investigate project variances and discuss variance with Project Managers.
- Analyse and track project costings.
- Liaise with Project Managers to understand billing schedules and ensure invoices are generated in line with agreed schedules.
- Assist with the preparation of monthly claims and progress billing to clients.
- Issue all required information to finance (Accounts receivable) for invoicing.
- Support the Project Coordinator to ensure the correct purchase orders are being updated accurately to the correct project number.
- Provide coverage of relevant positions in the business unit as required such as in the event of annual leave or other absences, ensuring that all handover notes are adhered to, and outstanding tasks completed in a timely manner.
To be successfully considered for this role you must have:
- A minimum of 5 years' of demonstrated experience in a similar role.
- Experience managing the financial aspect of projects is essential.
- Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
- Willingness to take ownership of the role.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
