- Crane Specialist/Construction Project Manager
The role of the Crane Specialist/Construction Project Manager at Max Cranes is to seamlessly integrate project management and crane operation disciplines. This position is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of construction projects while ensuring optimal functioning of cranes and rigging equipment. The manager ensures all operations adhere to our integrated management system and regulatory standards, provides strategic leadership to project and operations teams, and delivers technical advice to enhance efficiency and safety in lifting services.
Project Planning and Management:
- Develop comprehensive project plans to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Coordinate project resources, manage timelines, and negotiate with stakeholders to achieve project objectives.
- Conduct site inspections and project meetings to monitor progress and address any issues that arise.
Crane and Lifting Operations Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of crane and rigging equipment, ensuring compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Provide technical advice on crane operations, including the selection and setup of the right equipment for specific tasks.
- Develop and implement training programs for new crane operators and rigging staff.
Regulatory Compliance and Risk Management:
- Ensure all construction activities and crane operations comply with governmental regulations and environmental standards.
- Assess and mitigate risks associated with construction and lifting operations to prevent workplace accidents and delays.
- Handle compliance checks and prepare reports for regulatory bodies as required.
- Stakeholder Communication and Team Leadership:
- Act as the primary contact for project stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and government agencies.
- Lead and motivate a team of professionals in diverse roles; ensuring team cohesion and effective communication.
- Resolve conflicts among project stakeholders and team members in a timely and effective manner.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Bachelor degree, alternatively a Diploma and 5 years of relevant experience.
- At least 3 years with substantial experience in crane operations.
- Competent in the use of computers.
- Experienced in managing and co-ordinating personnel.
- Sound knowledge of statutory requirements.
- Conflict management skills.
