Hinterland Aviation is a leading regional airline in North Queensland, with our Head Office & Heavy Maintenance division in Cairns with a growing fleet of 15 turbine powered aircraft.
Due to sustained and continual growth, an exciting opportunity now exists for a highly motivated Operations & Customer Services Officer to become apart of our operations team in this full-time position on Horn Island
This role is vital in ensuring the success of our company. You will be responsible responsible for the planning, coordinating and monitoring of daily flight activities across the network including flight dispatch, aircraft & crew scheduling in consultation with the Base Manager, focusing on optimum safety and performance, productivity and efficiency through the provision of effective strategies in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
The Role:
The position is full-time, Monday to Friday, however, may include weekends and public holidays if operationally required.
You will be responsible and not limited to:
- Operate base radio to coordinate aircraft movements and parking and notify the Airworthiness staff if an aircraft has returned unserviceable
- Providing a high level of Customer Service during the check-in process.
- Loading and unloading aircraft,in accordance with weight and balance guidelines
- Preparation of flight manifests and aircraft dispatch in an efficient and timely manner in accordance with regulatory requirements
- Customer service – providing accurate information to customers on itineraries, fares and fare rules
- Utilise aviation software Takeflite from bookings to fleet & crew scheduling
- Receipt and dispatch of freight

Experience in the aviation industry is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. To be successful in this role you must have excellent communication skills, be customer focused, have a “can do” attitude and be able to work effectively in a team environment.
