The Opportunity
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of an organisation dedicated to nation-building renewable energy projects that will provide on-demand energy and large-scale storage for many generations to come.
The Data Insights & Visualisation Lead will be responsible for leading reporting governance, advance analytics modelling, data visualisation, reporting and capability building for analyst across Transgrid to ensure delivery of business Insights and their effective visualisation in a timely manner to all stakeholders.
You will work closely with stakeholders in Finance and Delivery teams to identify analysis needs for decision making and ensures their timely and accurate delivery through digital finance channels, collaborates with analyst teams across asset management, corporate services and other business units to enable them to do the same for their respective business partners.
In this role, you will also be responsible for implementing the collaborative design of governance frameworks ensuring standardised business analysis and its common understanding across Transgrid.
About you
Tertiary qualifications in business systems, business analytics or in a related discipline; or equivalent relevant experience
Highly advance skills and extensive knowledge & experience in using and implementing business analytics and data visualisation tools like Advance Excel, Power Pivots, Power Query, OLAP Tools, Power BI, Etc.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access and SharePoint)
Strong Stakeholder engagement skills to iteratively develop tools & raise internal capability
Understanding of cross platform data and analytical tools, different database technologies and related technology stacks from key vendors.
Ability to identify training needs and train other people, capability building and team design
High level knowledge and understanding of Infrastructure and Electricity Networks
High level understanding of TransGrid’s budgeting and labour costing processes, financial operations and other functional areas.
7+ Years of experience in a similar working role focused around data engineering and advance analytics
Excellent ability to work pragmatically with a structured (yet flexible) approach to solve problems and find outcomes that truly provide value to the organisation.
Demonstrated time management skills including the ability to manage competing priorities to achieve deadlines and desired outcomes
Extensive analytical and problem solving skills, with proven ability to adopt a pro-active stance towards business issues.
Extensive knowledge and experience in the application of analytical skills covering statistical, numerical and analytical principles and processes to manage business performance, KPI and benchmarking data and activities
Ability to think and act both strategically and tactically - technical understanding with ability to translate to business concepts
Understanding of the need to manage confidential or sensitive information effectively
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels to achieve business outcomes
Ability to influence stakeholders and other parties to take required actions to meet business needs
Ability to lead a professional team of resource analyst/s to meet targeted outcomes and timeframes.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with an ability to build rapport with a range of stakeholders and present information concisely
