Role
The role offers an exciting opportunity for a committed professional Design Engineer to work within a rapidly growing enterprise dealing with both domestic and international markets.
A key part of your role will be to gather information from our customers and complete formal, detailed designs of bolt tensioning & lifting equipment. This includes performing design calculations, generating relevant reports and costing production.
The key responsibilities for the role are to:
- Gather information from customers & Sales staff.
- Create engineered solutions.
- Create Engineering drawings and technical documents to support the designs.
- Material selection & costings.
- Provide technical support internally & externally.
- Formulating design briefs to comply with relevant standards and specifications.
- Develop and implement product and application manuals.
You
The position is ideal for an engineer with a strong drive to succeed and a passion for providing high-quality solutions. You need to be a self-starter and work with minimal supervision in a small team environment requiring multitasking.
Previous experience with the use of drafting software such as SolidWorks, AutoCad and Solid Edge is required. You must also be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office programs, including MSWord and Excel.
Tertiary qualifications in Mechanical Engineering are desirable as is experience in hydraulics and design drafting. Candidates having a good mechanical aptitude will be well regarded. Experience within mining, technical services or industrial sales is a plus.
