The opportunity
The Infrastructure team is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology, including solution architecture and IT implementation for Pentana Solutions. The team focus on three key core areas of expertise - core networks, internal and customer platforms, and Desktop Support for Pentana Solutions staff.
The infrastructure team is dedicated to the certification of technology which drives our business to succeed. In collaboration with presales, development and our customer service centre, our focus is to collaborate and deliver the most secure, scalable and supportable solutions for the Pentana Solutions business and our customers
Reporting to the Desktop Support Engineer Team Leader, the Desktop Support Engineer will support the company infrastructure and technology requirements, which cover a diverse range of hardware, operating systems / applications and communication solutions for Internal Pentana Solutions Staff members.
This role requires working from our head office in Mount Waverley, five days per week.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Providing friendly/high customer service and timely follow-up on all incidents, including managing and tracking all incidents via the service management tool (i.e. ServiceNow).
- Management and maintenance of employee desktop environments, inclusive of operating system and production applications.
- Management and maintenance of messaging and user communications software.
- Management and maintenance of user accounts, security and access to servers and auditing.
- Management and maintenance of backups to critical equipment, including but not limited to offsite rotation of tapes.
- Installation, configuration and support of print devices.
- Build, installation and configuration of server solutions where required.
- Continual assessment and improvement of internal processes, ensuring they are compliant and in line with industry standards.
- Generating ad-hoc and regular reports as needed.
- Working with the wider team and departments, on tasks, projects and requests/support as needed.
- General administrative duties as required (e.g. security/Anti-virus/ WSUS).

Who you are:
Professional:
- Tertiary qualification in relevant IT field
- A background in the automotive industry – highly desirable
- Microsoft Windows Certification – highly desirable
- Tertiary qualification Knowledge of ITIL – highly desirable.
- Competency with Windows systems (Windows 10/11, Exchange 20xx, Active Directory)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 general administration.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Exchange management
- System Center Configuration Manager experience (desirable)
- Competency installing, configuring and supporting the Microsoft Office suite of programs
- Demonstrated experience with scripting and automated build process included WDS
- Demonstrated experience in performance tuning, system recovery
- Experience with Webex, Cisco Video and Voice.
