About the Role

This full-time position is responsible for Digital Marketing support across the Club’s key business areas, with a strong focus on delivering tailored digital experiences aligned to the Club’s strategic priorities.

Reporting to the Digital and Paid Performance Manager, this role plays an integral part in expanding the Club’s relevant audience and nurturing customers through to consumer and commercial products. The role will also work closely across the Club’s internal departments to deliver timely and engaging campaigns to help achieve business objectives whilst maintaining positive brand sentiment.

The successful candidate will have a strong Digital Marketing background and a customer-centric mindset, in addition to technical skills in digital and social media platforms. Furthermore, the successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, an ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team and will have the ability to work with a range of stakeholders with competing timelines, whilst producing the highest quality of content.

Key Responsibilities

  • Working closely with internal-and-external stakeholders to ensure mutually positive results and build strong relationships
  • Drive customer acquisition, consideration, and conversion for internal and external stakeholders
  • Multi-channel paid and organic digital advertising campaign delivery
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of Digital Marketing strategies which supports multiple areas of the business
  • Use various digital products to deliver on fan-engagement targets
  • Contribute to the delivery of email marketing and automation that assists other areas of the business with audience growth, retention, and monetisation
  • Collect insights from various paid campaigns and use this to drive future strategy
  • Grow the Club’s total contactable database through delivery of targeted digital assets for Club and Partner campaigns
  • Report on campaign and advertising outcomes
  • Assist with the content and marketing strategy for Carlton’s non-traditional business arms in order to help grow non-traditional revenue streams
  • Publishing content on Carlton Football Club’s digital platforms – desktop, mobile, app and social media
  • Conduct regular reviews across all digital touchpoints ensuring consistency and relevancy
  • Basic photo editing / Photoshop design editing
  • Publish content and develop digital platforms for all business areas, providing advice on channel effectiveness

Experience, Skills and Attributes

  • Tertiary qualification in Marketing, Digital Media or related discipline
  • 2+ years’ experience in a relevant Digital Marketing/paid performance role
  • Experience with paid social media including setting up, analysing and optimising campaigns
  • Strong email marketing skills and ability to identify opportunities to grow key e-commerce and other business channels through the Carlton Football Club (experience with Microsoft Marketing and BigCommerce is beneficial)
  • Ability to use a variety of digital products and platforms to engage and monetize online audiences
  • Experience with GA-4, Looker Studio (or similar) with an ability to build custom dashboards for reporting
  • SEO experience preferred with optimising website design and copy to increase search engine ranking
  • A knowledge of basic marketing principles
  • Ability to identify and engage existing, new and emerging audiences online
  • Experience maintaining/updating website content including basic copywriting skills
  • Experienced managing social media platforms
  • Knowledge of basic CMS principles
  • Collaborative mindset, dedicated to delivering value through proactive support and assistance.
  • Marketing mindset with an ability to identify digital opportunities across the business
  • Ability to monitor Digital Marketing trends and implement those which are relevant to the business
  • Knowledge of the AFL/AFLW and its fans preferred, but not essential
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Audience centric and insights driven
  • Ability to build key relationships with all departments
  • Collaborative and a team player
  • Willingness to work varied hours, including some weekends
  • Creative flair and an ability to meet deadlines, often with competing priorities whilst producing quality content
  • Maintain appropriate professional conduct especially in the area of ethics and confidentiality
