Details: There is an exciting new opportunity within the Light Rail Team to be the Director, First Nations Engagement.
The Director, First Nations Engagement, is a designated position only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. This role provides a valuable opportunity for the light rail project to benefit from Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ contributions to shape the design and delivery of the Light Rail Stage 2 Project. Respectful listening, collaborative engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices is critical in achieving Light Rail Stage 2 Project objectives.
As the Director, First Nations Engagement, you will be responsible for leading liaison and engagement activities. This includes leading community and stakeholder engagement activities, as well as working directly with design and construction partners to drive the diversity and inclusion objectives of the Light Rail Stage 2 Project. You will work directly with the Project Team, our industry partners, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and the broader Major Projects Canberra directorate to achieve these objectives.

Eligibility/Other Requirements: This is a designated position in accordance with s42, Discrimination Act 1991, and is only open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. Experience in a similar role within a services delivery or a project environment will be highly regarded.
Notes: A Merit Pool will be established from this selection process and will be used to fill vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only. This position will be moving to a new workplace designed for activity-based working (ABW). Under ABW arrangements, officers will not have a designated workstation/desk.
