About the Role
The Director Medical Services are key roles newly established to support the Office of the Chief Medical Officer in providing professional leadership, clinical governance, medical workforce management and strategic planning across Western Health.
As a member of Western Health’s Senior Leadership Group, this role will work closely with the Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Chief Operating Officers, Deputy Executive Directors of Nursing & Midwifery, Clinical Services Directors, Divisional leaders and Heads of Units, to achieve the organisations strategic priorities and the delivery of Best Care for our patients, consumers and community.
To be Successful in this Role you
- Will be a recognised leader in medical management and leadership, with demonstrated experience in the following domains:
- Strategic planning and operational execution
- Clinical governance, accreditation and clinical risk management
- Medical workforce management and development
- Will have relevant clinical and management experience within a large, complex, tertiary health service
- Must be a registered medical practitioner with the Medical Board of Australia
- Will hold postgraduate qualifications in health service management (or equivalent)
- Will be a Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of Medical Administrators (RACMA) or have significant progress towards such.
