Job description
Reporting to the Executive Director (Regulatory Compliance & Enforcement), the Director (Regulatory Programs & Compliance) will be responsible for:
* Managing and maintaining consistency in the delivery of compliance-based road safety policies and programs, products and services across the state.
* Providing effective leadership, mentoring and strategic direction to drive positive change and influence strategic objectives for the Regulatory Assurance and Risk (Audit) Programs, Compliance Programs, and Investigations and Enforcement teams.
* Providing expertise to support and embed data-led interventions and innovations targeted at improving road safety, identifying and managing non-compliance and excessive breaches.
* Providing authoritative advice to the Regulatory Compliance and Enforcement Leadership Team on potential regulatory compliance issues, enforcement, data analysis and investigation trends.
About You
This role is ideally suited to a leader who is consistent in their approach, with a high level of emotional intelligence. You will be leading a diverse team of professionals that will be providing services across Queensland. Your demonstrable experience in taking a team on a journey of capability building will stand you in good stead to have a positive impact in this role. Whilst it is not a requirement to have a background in road safety for this role, it will be well regarded. What is of most importance is your strong leadership experience and ability to navigate complex and sensitive environments.
Key Role Requirements
* Record of success as a leader in a large, complex and decentralised organisation.
* Proven ability to lead the delivery of high-profile government priorities, along with excellence in client service.
* Strong background in program management, strategy and policy implementation, and regulatory compliance, within the public, private and/or not for profit sectors.
While there are no mandatory qualifications for the role, it is highly desirable for applicants to possess experience of five or more years in a regulatory compliance management role, delivering on complex and multi-faceted compliance frameworks. A criminal history check will also be undertaken prior to appointment to this role.
