The role entails managing a team of support workers to help provide competent, participant centric and compassionate service to differently abled participants. The position demands effective planning, organising and coordinating the day-to-day requirements of NDIS clients. Key tasks include professional and administrative support to the team and clients, review of individual plans and goals and unique situation handling where required. The ideal candidate is one who has a past experience in man-management and a natural flair for social work and community services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage team of support workers and drive day-to-day operational requirements to make participants experience pleasant and seamless.
- Support and respond to participant's needs, in the event of an escalation and collaborate cordially with them and their families to make their association comfortable.
- Review documents and records of participant activities through case notes, progress reports and incident reports of team members, provide guidance and direction where needed.
- Liaise with external service organisations for specific requirements of clients concerning their health, allied service needs and overall wellbeing.
- Monitor quality of support to participants around areas of social and community engagement, domestic needs and day-to-day activities based on requirement.
- Assist in administrative and financial support services like budget planning, stocks and supplies and other associated logistics for seamless operations.
- Liaise with local communities, welfare agencies and government bodies to address resource and community issues as also promote awareness of community services.
- Ensure timely and quality recruitment of support workers in conjunction with Human Resources function to meet business demands and uninterrupted services to clients.
- Organise regular training and workshops for team members both internally as well as externally to drive sensitivity and continuous improvisation in quality of services.
- Drive adherence to NDIS code of conduct, internal procedures and policies for the overall wellbeing of both team members as well as participants.
- A Bachelor's Degree in any stream along with relevant qualifications in disability, aged care, allied health and mental health services would be preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of overall work experience and past experience in a similar role, would be preferred.
- Certificate III in individual support will be essential along with current NDIS workers screening check and working with children check.
- NDIS Worker Orientation Module Training Certificate, National Police Check Certificate and First Aid and CPR certificate.
- Passion for learning and community services, a lead by example approach, and compassion towards differently abled people.
- Strong understanding of the disability sector, flexible work hours with excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong computer skills and past experience of working on MS Office systems, Email, CRM, reporting and analytics tools.
- Having work rights in Australia, a valid Victorian Driving License and with access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
- Fluency in English, Hindi and Telugu (Preferred) to meet the language needs of our current participants.
