Currently, there are around 4.3 million Australians with a disability. The National Disability Insurance Agency (NDIA) implements the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS), which is one of the biggest social reforms in the country since Medicare. As an Agency, we support more than 600,000 participants with a significant and permanent disability, and the families and carers of those living with disability. For many Australians, this will be the first time they receive the disability support they need. The NDIA is designed to enhance the quality of life and increase economic and social participation for people with disability and will mean a peace of mind for every Australian.
A new role awaits
The NDIA is seeking highly motivated professionals with executive support experience to join the agency as EL1 Divisional Support Officer’s. Reporting to the General Manager, you will provide executive support, resolving issues and assessing risk across a broad range of activities. You will be accountable for complex work that delivers quality outcomes across the functions of the NDIA.
We have multiple vacancies supporting General Managers across the agency, driving change, and making a difference in the lives of people with a disability.
This role can be worked flexibly with a variety of work from home and flexible work hours available to the successful applicants. The NDIA prides itself on being a flexible, dynamic, and adaptive work environment responding proactively to change and continuously improving the way we work.
Where you can add value You will have the opportunity to utilise your expertise to respond to operational challenges in a coordinated and informed way. You will be responsible for providing efficient and effective high-level management support services and strategic advice to the General Manager.
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to:
  • Coordinating operational and administrative duties and tasks
  • Directing enquiries and requests to relevant business areas and providing advice to the General Manager on documents and engagement opportunities requiring a response
  • Facilitating the provisioning of messages and advice from the General Manager to staff within the division and wider Agency and assisting with the timely flow of documents for clearance
  • Coordinating the end-to-end life cycle of parliamentary document records across the division using prescribed processes and procedures

Our ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment. You will have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain networks and experience in developing high level written reports and briefing materials. You will display a high attention to detail and possess the ability to make decisions whilst working independently and proactively.

While this role is ideally performed from Geelong - VIC, Richmond - VIC, Penrith - NSW or Canberra - ACT, remote working arrangements may be considered. We intend to fill this role in an ongoing capacity, however non-ongoing roles up to 12 months may be offered.
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police History check, Worker Screening check and/or Working with Children Check (where required) and provide evidence of Australian Citizenship.
