The Role:
Ventia is a leading maintenance service provider supporting the Australian Defence Force. We are currently seeking experienced Electronic Technicians to perform all trade related tasks associated with the maintenance and repair of electronic devices in vehicles, plant and equipment. Electronics technicians diagnose faults and repair electronic devices. This role will see the successful candidates based at the RAAF Edinburgh Base as part of the Defence Maintenance and Support Services contract. This is a Temporary role offering a roster of 6:45am to 3:30pm Monday - Thursday and 7:00am to 12:00pm Friday EKO. 38hr week unless OT specifically requested by client. The payrate will range from $45-$55 per hour depending on skills and experience.
The responsibilities of the position include:
Conducting maintenance tasks, including technical inspection and classification, for
which they are competent and qualified within time frames specified in Work Orders to
the required Work Standards and/or the standard detailed in materiel specific
instructions. This may include:
- Attend to breakdowns in electronics and communications equipment.
- Troubleshoot digital subsystems, amplifiers and circuits.
- Find and repair faults in complex power supplies.
- Service broadcast, microwave and satellite technology.
- Service analogue, digital and data equipment and signals.
- Service fire and security alarm systems.
- Repair cameras, visual receivers, computers and weapons equipment.
- Dismantle, assemble and fabricate electrotechnology assemblies.
- Install extra low voltage wiring systems.
Skills and experience:
- Possess a recognised Trade Certificate III of proficiency (Elctro-technology) Communication or in a similar electronics discipline).
- Supplementary skills or licences required for specific vehicles.
- Demonstrated ability to inspect, diagnose, repair and maintain radios, optical instruments, navigational aids, laser range finding equipment, medical and dental equipment, electro-optical/ electro-hydraulic/electro-mechanical systems, radar systems, electronic vehicle control systems and electronic surveillance and detection systems.
- Possess a current Australian driver's license for C (manual).
Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance up to the level of Negative Vetting Level 1.
