Strata Products Australia is part of the Atlanta USA based Strata Worldwide. In Australia, we operate in Newcastle, Perth and Mackay. Due to continued growth in our core business we require an experienced Electronics Application Engineer to join our team at our APAC head office in Newcastle.
The role will suit an individual who is keen to make a difference, is passionate about advanced mining technology and enjoys working in a team environment. You will be responsible for providing guidance, support and high level engineering capability to Strata’s product deployment, sales and customer service operations while ensuring the engineering team are aware of any issues and improvements needed to our product.
Key aspects of the role include:
- Be the Subject Matter Expert on core solutions including Proximity Systems, CANbus controllers, RFID Tracking technologies, Mining Communications and Ethernet/WiFi devices.
- Assist service teams with technical and customer support while ensuring engineering best practice is integral with our support and deployment activities.
- Assisting sales teams with proposals and tenders and where required assist in the technical sales process.
- Provide input to the design, prototype, testing of hardware solutions and/or sub-solutions pertaining to core areas of the Strata solution portfolio.
- Collect, analyse and develop requirements from internal and external customers.
- Work closely with Strata R&D teams to conceptualise, document, plan, test and deploy Strata product solutions.
- Develop Technical Documentation and Processes.
- Training end users and customers on the systems, in particular “train the trainer”.
- Liaise with International Strata Engineering teams to act as the field/application Engineering subject matter expert regarding local requirements, standards and certifications.
- Provide verbal and written reports to customers regarding any engineering requirements.
- Understands Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Health, Safety and Environment regulations.
The role requires an electronics degree qualified person with applications experience within mining, manufacturing or heavy industries. Underground experience is desirable. The applicant will need to have good verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills and a collaborative approach. The role is based in our APAC HQ located in Mayfield West NSW.
