About the role
The WA Operations team provides support to the AEMO real time control room, key internal teams and external stakeholders. In this role, you will provide expertise to support the WA operational planning and forecasting team and other key stakeholders. You’ll provide technical support and continuity to enable complex operational problems to be solved; work towards continuous improvement; support innovation; and manage issues resolution. This role is based in Perth.
What you will be doing
- Provide operational support to drive improvement with in AEMO WA operations space
- Manage operational issues; identify and analyse areas of concern; and implement remedial action to achieve business outcomes, including issues resolution across key internal and external stakeholders
- Support and guide operational planning activities where advanced levels of technical analysis are required
- Perform Power System Security analysis
- Provide technical interface between AEMO operations and internal and external stakeholders to enable AEMO to respond to operational and emerging challenges impacting real time operations space
What you will bring to the role
- Relevant Tertiary qualification (ideally a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering with focus on Power Systems engineering)
- Strong knowledge of Power Systems, including experience with transmission networks and Power System operations, modelling, and analysis
- Power system analysis capability including load flow or fault studies
- Aptitude for understanding new technologies and acquiring new skills
- Ability to think logically and analyse and solve issues
