About the Role & Client:
As the Environmental Assurance Officer, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with environmental management obligations on a significant construction project. Working closely with contractors, you will develop and implement a robust framework to oversee and manage environmental obligations as outlined in relevant deeds, planning approval, and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an effective framework for managing environmental management obligations.
- Monitor and assess contractor compliance with environmental requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to environmental standards.
- Provide guidance and support to contractors on environmental best practices.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to address environmental issues and drive continuous improvement.
Skills & Requirements:
- Proven experience in environmental management, preferably in the construction or renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of environmental regulations and statutory obligations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Location & Roster:
This role is based in Cooma, NSW, with FIFO options available from Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, and Adelaide on a 14:7 roster. Alternatively, DIDO arrangements are available for candidates residing within a 2-hour radius of Cooma.
