This pool targets Public Sector Employees only and is for a fixed term opportunity for up to 12 months, with a possible extension.
The Terrestrial Ecosystems Branch supports the department through the provision of specialist scientific advice on terrestrial biodiversity to the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA), the Department of Water and Environmental Regulation (DWER) and government; development of terrestrial biodiversity policy, provision of support for regional biodiversity planning and strategic projects and improving access and reuse of biodiversity data through the Index of Biodiversity Surveys for Assessment.
This role assists with the specialist technical reviews of terrestrial and subterranean fauna-related scientific reports, development proposals and management plans referred to the EPA and DWER to support environmental impact assessment, environmental regulation and investigations of environmental compliance.
In addition to this:
SCL2 - Contributes to specialist technical advice on matters relating to the management and protection of terrestrial and subterranean fauna. Assists with the development and implementation of policies and strategic advice relevant to terrestrial and subterranean fauna based on sound scientific evidence.
SCL3 - Provides specialist technical advice and makes recommendations to internal and external stakeholders on matters relating to the management and protection of terrestrial and subterranean fauna. Develops and implements policies and strategic advice relevant to terrestrial and subterranean fauna, based on sound scientific evidence.
