OUR COMPANY
MEGC is a council-owned entity tasked with increasing the reputation of the Gold Coast as a major events destination and driving strong tourism and economic impacts for our city.
We do this by:
- Staging our own festivals and events, including Blues on Broadbeach, Cooly Rocks On, Springtime Music Festival and Groundwater Country Music Festival.
- Leading the city’s major event attraction program, by providing financial support to attract and secure major events to the Gold Coast.
THE POSITION
The primary purpose of this position is to support the Event Manager to develop, manage and produce events and festivals owned and delivered by MEGC. You will:
- Support the Festivals team in the delivery of a high-quality portfolio of festivals and events.
- Help to prepare key project and event management documentation such as site plans and event schedules.
- Use your creative flair to enhance the audience experience through innovative event design, theming and activations.
- Coordinate operational requirements to support the seamless and successful delivery of our festivals and events.
- Work collaboratively with all areas of the business, including the programming, marketing and corporate services teams.
- Support the delivery of safe and secure events, integrating safety into all aspects of event planning.
- Build effective relationships with key stakeholders.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
You are a team player who can also work autonomously. You are a bright, hardworking fast learner who will possess the following skills and attributes:
- A passionate event professional who is able to develop and push the boundaries of the events we deliver.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a diverse events and festival environment.
- Certificate in event management (desirable).
- Strong organisational, administrative and time management skills.
- Adept at juggling tasks across multiple projects.
- Knowledge of 3D modelling and design software (desirable).
- Understanding of WHS and risk considerations and requirements in the delivery of major events and festivals.
- Ability to quickly acquire knowledge of specific event and festival software.
