The MND and Me Foundation
The MND and Me Foundation is a registered charity that supports people and their families living with Motor Neurone Disease (MND) in Queensland. The Foundation delivers support programs and Funds research into treatments and a cure for MND. The MND and Me Foundation was established in 2011 and has so far raised over $10,000,000 mainly through the development of Events and peer to peer fundraising initiatives ($1.8m in 22/23FY).
The MND and Me Foundation’s mission is To Care and To Cure - We fund research into an effective treatment or cure but until that day arrives, we fund care services for Queenslanders living with MND as well as their family and care support network.
The Foundation has a staff of three: CEO, Client Services Manager and this role so you will be responsible for the full range of tasks involved in Events and Fund Raising.
THE ROLE
The MND and Me Foundation is looking for an enthusiastic Events and Fundraising Manager to take on the role of Events and Fund Raising at the Foundation. Reporting to the CEO, this will be a vital role tasked with managing our events, campaigns, and Fundraising initiatives as well as assisting with community third party events.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of a detailed fundraiser journey, ensuring our Events and community fundraising efforts are strategic and effective in generating revenue. Your ability to build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders will be essential in achieving our fundraising goals. This role will also provide essential support with communications and content, streamlining our messaging across various platforms, including social media, website, and newsletters.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Responsibility for planning, implementation and evaluation of annual Foundation events.
- Support of third party events across the State.
- Support the implementation of strategic fundraising plan.
- Manage and support volunteers and all volunteer activities
- Coordinate all event marketing and PR activities
- Manage all events budgets
- Cultivate and develop sponsorship opportunities and support partner relationships
- Administer all Events and supporter data in the Salesforce database.
- Support and administer website and other events platforms
- Support and grow the supporter network through engagement activities
- Other duties as directed and required.
EXPERIENCE
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to plan, prioritise and meet project timeframes
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, knowledge of Salesforce and Adobe creative suite would also be useful
- Budget and Data Management experience
- Solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
- Work well within a small team environment
- Current Driver's Licence
QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer 3 to 5 years experience in a paid fundraising and special events position. Evidence of successful event, sponsorship, marketing, public relations and business development/relationship programs required.
