About Toowoomba Hospital Foundation
First established in 1991, Toowoomba Hospital Foundation (THF) raises funds in support of Darling Downs Health through the provision of medical equipment, resources, facility enhancements, patient programs, staff training and development, and research across 29 hospitals and health service facilities.
About the role
As the Events Manager, you will lead a team to develop and deliver innovative events for THF and develop a brand-aligned events strategy.
This role is based in Toowoomba, Qld.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the development and delivery of all elements of THF and Mates events
- Manage the events team and other relevant team members to ensure the required level of sponsorship, volunteers, raffle prizes, and donations are achieved for all THF events
- Work with the Marketing Team on promotion and booking procedures for all THF events
- Manage and track the financial budget of THF and Mates events for optimal efficiency and effectiveness and to meet budget targets
- Prepare relevant material for individual events, including run sheets
- Upon completion of each event, undertake a detailed analysis and report to management on the outcomes
- Assist in physical set up, pack up, delivery to venues, collection from the venue, marketing collateral distribution, packing gift bags etc for events
- Continue to develop efficiencies in processes
- Collaborate with Chief Fundraising and Marketing Officer to ensure clear communication and shared direction
- Lead an effective and cohesive events team
- Manage and actively look for opportunities to grow sponsorship to the THF
- Respond to sponsorship enquiries in a timely and professional manner,
maintaining exceptional customer service at all times - Proactively develop relationships with key stakeholders and providers, ensuring value to the THF
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following skills:
- Ability to lead a team of events professionals
- Proven planning, logistics and production skills
- Experience in briefing and working with suppliers – audio, av, staging etc
- Exceptional organisational and project management skills including experience in budget management
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage various projects concurrently
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and ability to build rapport quickly with others in a professional manner
- Ability to follow policies and procedures with a strong focus on quality control
- Positive attitude and creative approach to solving problems
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional level of oral and written communication skills and ability to write reports
- Current driver’s licence
Demonstrated experience in a similar role (minimum 3 years experience).
Relevant certificates or degree qualifications in event management, project management or marketing preferred
