About Us:
Established nearly two decades ago, the NSW Indigenous Chamber of Commerce Inc. (NSWICC) was Australia’s first peak representative body for Indigenous business. We are an independent, non-government funded and self-sustained, Indigenous-led organisation, representing 500+ majority-owned, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander enterprises. The NSWICC has established a ‘One Stop Shop’ model and suite of services, where Indigenous business owners, government and industry come together to build, develop and grow the Indigenous business sector.
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, this role is responsible for the planning, development, and evaluation of high-quality and effective events with a range of stakeholders. We will be delivering several strategic programs over the coming years, and these require a range of high-quality events, in addition to our regular member and partner events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop an annual forecast of planned events, and an appropriate plan for individual events, including pre and post event activities.
- Develop sponsorship and promotional documentation for specific events.
- Assist the Marketing & Communications Manager in managing all NSWICC events, ensuring the timely promotion of events on all applicable channels.
- Collaborate with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure appropriate and successful events.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for external event stakeholders, including delivery partners and venues.
- Act as an event concierge, coordinating meetings, maintaining notes, and ensuring compliance with relevant polices.
- Administer event forecasts, budgets, and costings.
- Assist with general marketing, communications and event administrative tasks.
About You:
An events extraordinaire with an interest in the development of a prosperous and sustainable Indigenous business sector.
To be considered you will need:
- Demonstrated experience in event development, planning and delivery.
- Demonstrated high-level of verbal and written communication, with excellent stakeholder engagement skills at various levels.
- Advanced organisation and planning skills, with a proven ability to conduct research and analysis as required and reach evidence-based conclusions in the event development process.
- Proven ability to work autonomously, maintain high workloads, meet deadlines, and establish priorities, whilst maintaining a high attention to detail.
- Experience in supporting project management activities and seeing tasks through to completion, with a commitment to achieving quality outcomes.
- Demonstrated basic financial administration understanding.
- Demonstrated ability to manage varied and conflicting demands to agreed standards and timelines, show initiative, confidentiality, discretion, punctuality, and reliability.
- Strong work ethic, ability to prioritise projects and a willingness to work outside business hours, including weekends, when required.
- Cultural competence and experience within Indigenous settings and stakeholder groups.
