Events (sales) coordinator
Situated in the Northwestern suburbs of Melbourne; the Taylors Lakes Hotel is an award-winning venue, with 4 function spaces alongside 58 luxury accommodation rooms, restaurant, sports bar, TAB and bottle shop.
The hotel is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and talented functions/events professional to join our team!
This hands-on role would be a perfect fit for an innovative individual who has a strong eye for detail, sales focus and can demonstrate a high level of event execution for celebrations, meetings, special events and weddings.
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, working alongside the other events supervisors and staff, the successful applicant must be able to assist in developing event offerings that respond to the evolving events landscape.
The role:
- Planning, delivery and execution of all events.
- Timely and accurate distribution of all events related information to both the client and hotel departments.
- Conduct briefings and staff meetings to ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
- Delivering a dynamic events schedule - from conception through to execution.
- Attend and participate in weekly meetings.
- Delivering exceptional customer service.
- Work in conjunction with other departments, including the function kitchen to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
- Occasionally supervise events, which includes the occasional working evenings and weekends.
- Roster and control wage costs.
- Maintain correct levels of equipment required for all functions and have in place.
- Effectively resolve guest queries and complaints.
- Compliance with company policies and procedures.
To be considered for this position:
- Previous experience in Banquets or Events, preferably within a hotel with minimum 2 years' experience.
- Excellent communication skills - both verbal and written.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong customer focus with a can-do attitude.
- Outstanding personal presentation.
- Good organizational and time management skills.
- Experience in rostering, stock control and ordering.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong Food and Beverage experience.
