Job description

The Rural City of Murray Bridge is located 75 kilometres from Adelaide with a population of approximately 22,000 people. Murray Bridge is a significant growth area, employment and education is plentiful and the city is in an exciting position of being on the brink of further growth and development, as a place for industry, business, and place to live and thrive. Much focus has been placed on revitalisation of the public realm in recent years. This has been transformational for the city and community pride is high as a result.

Position Objective:

Reporting to and partnering with the General Manager - Infrastructure & Environment, you will provide high level executive administrative support services and undertake and manage a diverse range of projects related to business unit programs and service delivery.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Act as the first point of contact for a range of queries and internal approvals and keep the General Manager informed of important and emerging matters.
  • Develop, foster and maintain effective networks and key stakeholder relationships both internally and external to the organisation.
  • Contribute to meeting administration, including coordinating contributions towards agenda items, prepare agendas and distribute with associated documents for management meetings. Attend meetings, take and distribute minutes.
  • Develop procedures and coordinate systems to assure a high level of quality control of the General Manager's records management, documentation and information flow both electronically and hard copy in accordance with RCMB policies and procedures.
  • Undertake research and gathering of information relating to Portfolio programs and projects. Evaluate research outcomes and prepare draft briefs for consideration of the relevant General Manager.
  • Undertake projects and provide project-based support.

The successful candidate will ideally have a Certificate IV in Business Administration or similar and have proven experience in a secretarial or administrative support role at a senior level. You will have exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, at a corporate level with the ability to engage with a diverse range of stakeholders.

It is expected you are technically savvy within the MS Office suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and ideally familiarity with Document Management systems. OneNote and SharePoint (an advantage).
