The Opportunity:

McElhanney is looking for an experienced, organized, and tech-savvy Executive Assistant to support our the Alternate Product Delivery (APD) Group in Surrey, BC. You will be their right hand, always anticipating their needs, requirements and constantly being one step ahead of the game in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. You are highly tech savvy and able to leverage technology and digital tools to most efficiently support APD to optimize the use of their time, and to assist in troubleshooting technology challenges and solve technical problems, as well as adapt to new technologies and work processes quickly.


You play a visible and important role within McElhanney’s Alternative Project Delivery team which functions company wide. The team specializes in complex project design and delivery, while leveraging the 1400+ McElhanney staff for expert local knowledge and support. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on exciting projects across western Canada. You will work closely with stakeholders to align incentives, mitigate risks, and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget. What You Will Love Working with Us:

The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $83,000 per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.

What You Will Be Doing:

• Apply high levels of professionalism, tact and discretion in partnership with team’s leadership on handling and triaging of internal and external communication.
• Organize and maintain complex calendars, including a large volume of internal and external commitments in a highly dynamic environment requiring frequent re-prioritization and adjustments.
• Make travel arrangements, both domestic and international, and logistics for external and internal meetings, speaking engagements and conferences.
• Coordinate daily workflow and project progress, including managing information dissemination; tracking tasks and deliverables; and following-up on outstanding action items.

• Develop excellent working relationships with key partners internal and external, with an inclusive approach.
• Play a key role as a member of the Executive team in planning team and/or company-wide communications, meetings, events, and other activities.
• Preparing and reconciling the Vice President’s expense reports to ensure timely processing.
• Utilize your extensive knowledge of Excel to assist with office duties as needs arise.

What You Will Bring:

• Degree/Diploma in Business / Administration / Commerce.
• Preferably 5+ years of experience in a senior administrative role supporting executive and senior leadership teams.
• Must have expert proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat and experienced in the creation and administration of Microsoft Teams and SharePoint sites.
• Demonstrated workplace professionalism and ability to effectively handle confidential/sensitive information with discretion.
• Demonstrated effective communication (written and spoken) and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to think and plan proactively, anticipate next steps, take initiative, exercise discretion while handling confidential information, and apply sound judgment in making impactful decisions.
• Excellent time management skills, utilizing clear systems and composure to deal with multiple tasks at once.
• Ability to work independently and cohesively with diverse teams and be comfortable in multiple, highly varied settings, managing tight deadlines with changing priorities and targets.
• A quick learner and creative problem solver, interested in the bigger picture.
• Able to provide clear and effective direction and counsel in fast paced and high-stress situations.
