Distillers South Australia, formerly known as the South Australian Spirit Producers Association (SASPA), is a leading industry organisation representing spirits producers in South Australia. Position Summary:
The Executive Officer will oversee the day-to-day operations of Distillers South Australia, ensuring the highest quality delivery of services to our valued members. Additionally, the Executive Officer is responsible for forming and executing plans to achieve growth of Distillers South Australia, providing strategic support and delivering upon the sector-wide Distillers South Australia Blueprint.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute plans aligned with the Distillers South Australia Blueprint.
- Ensure the financial viability of Distillers South Australia by managing income and expenses effectively.
- Add value to Distillers South Australia members through various opportunities and resources.
- Oversee the delivery of government grant programs and seek out new funding opportunities.
- Manage sponsor commitments and identify avenues for sponsorship growth.
- Organise and deliver an outstanding annual Distillers South Australia Conference.
- Implement effective communication strategies, including member engagement initiatives and media relations.
- Represent Distillers South Australia to stakeholders and industry regulators.
- Manage the online membership portal and other technical platforms.
- Develop committee papers, attend meetings, and support policy development and advocacy work.
- Fulfill reporting requirements, especially for government entities.
- Develop and implement necessary systems, policies, and procedures.
Key Requirements:
- Degree minimum in one or more of the following disciplines: Business, Marketing, Commerce, International trade, media.
- Minimum of 5 years in senior management roles, preferably in marketing, industry associations, spirits, food and beverage, or government sectors.
- Strong strategic planning and financial management skills.
- Knowledge or willingness to learn about the spirits industry.
- Proficiency in online platforms such as Wild Apricot, Xero, MailChimp, and SurveyMonkey.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and advocacy skills.
- A practical understanding of workplace health and safety
- Strong Government and business networks.
- Media experience liaising with local, national and international media.
- Outstanding stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to cultivate partnerships and act upon opportunities.
- Ability to adapt to suit the needs and priorities of the organisation.
- Dedicated to delivering exceptional services to members.
- Hands-on practical experience delivering business activities.
- Ability to work effectively and autonomously.
- Strong team work, effective at delegation (i.e. to sub-committees)
Additional Information:
Flexible work arrangement with the ability to work from home.
Occasional weekend, night, and interstate/overseas work may be required.
Experience in the food and beverage sectors is not critical but will be valued.
