We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper for our office to join our dynamic team. This role is ideal for someone who values precision and efficiency in financial management, including handling multiple entity reconciliations and inter-entity transfers.
Start Date: ASAP
Work Hours: 25-30 hours per week, with flexible days and times to accommodate the right candidate.
Remuneration: Competitive salary, dependent on experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct all end-of-month procedures, including bank and account reconciliations, and preparation of manual journals.
- Prepare and lodge Monthly Business Activity Statements (BAS) via the ATO Portal.
- Manage fortnightly payroll operations utilizing Xero timesheets, including creation, updating, and monitoring of employee details, and ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing, along with updating and monitoring payroll taxes.
- Compile weekly and monthly reports for the Director, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of financial insights.
- Establish new entities in Xero, ensuring correct setup and compliance.
- Process supplier invoices and perform reconciliations to supplier statements, maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records.
- Address branch enquiries promptly, providing exceptional support and resolution.
- Foster effective communication and collaboration with Accountants, particularly concerning end-of-financial-year tasks and requirements.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping, with specific expertise in using Xero for various accounting tasks.
- Proficiency in the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) Portal, Microsoft Office Suite, and a thorough understanding of accounting principles and practices.
- Expertise in payroll management, including the use of Xero for fortnightly payroll processing, tax calculations, and timesheet management.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Mandatory in-depth knowledge of Xero, the ATO Portal, and Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience in a similar role, with a proven track record of managing bookkeeping tasks, payroll processing, and compliance with Australian tax laws.
