About the opportunityThe Broken Hill Rural Clinical School, (also known as the ) UDRH is funded under the Commonwealth Department of Health to deliver the objectives of the Rural Multidisciplinary Training Program. Facilities Manager to provide maintenance support for the multiple facilities including administration and student accommodation. This role requires regular visits with overnight stays to our remote sites. There will be an on-call allowance for management requirements outside of core hours. (subject to relevant approval).
Your key responsibilities will be to:- develop and undertake a schedule of regular maintenance on all facilities owned or used by the department for education, administration, staff, and student use
- ensure student and staff accommodation facilities are maintained with appropriate equipment and supplies for general operation of the facilities, including gardens and yard areas
- communicates with student placement staff regarding student accommodation requirements
- coordinates under the direction of the School Manager, the cleaning of department administration, education, and accommodation facilities
- participate in student placement orientation, including town tours
- monitor and follow up any Work Health and Safety matters as directed by the School Manager or BH UDRH WHS Management Group
- ensure all accommodation facilities are suitably equipped for student accommodation use
- oversee, under the direction of the School Manager, rental properties and be first point of contact for any issues regarding property management.
About you- substantial experience with facility and property management
- experienced in facility security
- demonstrated teamwork while completing tasks to meet deadlines
- demonstrated experience with tertiary students and related accommodation requirements
- substantial experience in negotiation and conflict resolution
- substantial experience with communications to external contractors
- substantial experience in work health and safety matters
