Your Role  

As a Finance Analyst within our Group & Reinsurance Accounting team, you will perform critical financial accounting and control deliverables as part of month end close for the IAG Group general ledger, ensuring that IAG's reporting requirements are met while adhering to relevant financial accounting standards, regulatory standards, Group policies, and governance. 

In this pivotal role, you will drive change and continuous improvements, understand reporting flows for Insurance and Group transactions from underwriting systems and other sources into the General and Consolidation ledgers. You will guide and review key Group consolidation and Reinsurance deliveries from our offshore partner accountants, within the Group general ledger. The ideal candidate will have thorough understanding and proven experience across a variety of internal financial controls.  

This is a permanent opportunity based in all major cities in Australia & New Zealand.  

About You  

• Financial Services expertise required, preferably within Insurance industry. 
• Demonstrated experience in finance and accounting including financial management/reporting and familiarity with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements (e.g. prominent AASB/IFRS standards, APRA, etc.)  
• Insurance technical accounting knowledge with some exposure to IFRS 17 as a bonus. 
• SAP (ECC6/S4/FSRI) and knowledge favoured  
• Degree in Accounting or Finance such as CA/CPA qualified or equivalent.  
• Experience in stakeholder management and some project management experience.
