Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the completion of the financial accounts for the Ipswich Jets RLFC Inc in a timely and effective manner.
This role has one direct report and is working for a community club that is part of the QCM group of clubs.
The role encompasses daily accounting processes, payroll, monthly account, management reporting and compliance.
Skills/Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications and CPA/CA qualified
Minimum 2 year experience in a similar role
Previous experience with Xero and payroll processing desirable
Clubs/Pubs or Retail experience highly desirable
Ability to problem solve and work autonomously
Ability to multi-task, prioritise and meet deadlines
Responsibilities include:
Financial
- Direct and coordinate the Clubs finance team;
- Interpret financial accounting standards and apply them to the monthly accounts;
- Preparation of yearly budgeting and maintaining up to date forecasts;
- Preparation of daily, weekly and monthly reporting;
- Preparation and delivery of monthly reports to the board;
- Preparation of monthly reports to the QCM group;
- Balance sheet reconciliations;
- Bank reconciliations;
- Oversee the accounts payable/receivable and payroll functionality.
Operations
- Review current processes and offer alternate and more effective solutions;
- Knowledge of the operations of a Licensed Club;
- Liaise with the Operation team to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide guidance where required
Finance Administration/Compliance
- Responsible for assisting and reviewing payroll function;
- Responsible for month end compliance of payroll such as payroll tax and super obligations;
- Responsible for timely lodgment of statutory reporting including gaming compliance;
- Responsible for ATO reporting and liaising with external accountants with regards to FBT and income tax obligations;
- Management of audit process with the company auditors.
Procedure Implementation and Training
- Provide accounting policies and procedure direction for all finance team members;
- Maintaining effective internal controls and segregation of duties;
- Assist with implementing finance procedures necessary for the effective operation of the finance department;
General Requirements
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including but not limited to Australian Accounting Standards and International Financial Reporting Standards;
- Knowledge of automated financial and accounting report systems;
- Various other tasks as directed by the Board, QCM group or General Manager in conjunction with finance or Club related matters.
