Finance Lead,
PURPOSE
Tyson Foods is seeking an experienced Finance Lead / Manager to join our team in Coominya, Queensland. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in stabilizing the finance team, providing essential business partnering with the FSQA (Food Safety and Quality Assurance) Department, and leading accounting functions with a focus on day-to-day general ledger transactions. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the success of a global food company with a specific emphasis on maintaining internal control standards and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting. This role will require the successful applicant to work on site.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
- Implement strategies to enhance team stability and effectiveness.
- Collaborate closely with the FSQA Department to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams.
- Oversee day-to-day general ledger transactions, including sales, inventory, AP, and AR, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Tyson internal controls.
- Maintain a high level of internal control standards and ensure the integrity of all financial reporting.
- Manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) processes.

- Manage company-related tax matters, liaising with external tax partners.
- Prepare and submit tax documents, including BAS, income tax returns, and R&D tax incentives.
- Oversee compliance with grants and regulations.
- Lead the quarterly forecasting process, working closely with key stakeholders to develop accurate financial projections.
- Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Overall responsibility for the day-to-day general ledger transactions including sales, inventory, AP and AR, etc.
- Maintain a high level of internal control standards by complying to Tyson internal controls.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial reporting of the company.
- Ensure the security of all the company’s assets including cash, fixed assets and inventories.
- Responsible to ensure the payment of suppliers and collections from customers are in accordance with company policy.
- Responsible for company related tax matters by liaising with external tax partner.
- Managing Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR).
- Balance sheet reconciliations including inter-company.
- Tax – BAS preparation, income tax returns, R&D tax incentives, grants.
- Managing bank accounts, including reconciliations and cash flow.
- Take part in annual internal and external audits.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Co-ordination of customer / supplier contracts with Tyson Legal.
- Overseeing partnership with Cross Function team.
- Pricing/Costing for both MD and Key Accounts markets.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is a plus.
- 6+ years of working experience in a similar role as in individual contributor or team lead.
- Proficiency in accounting packages, with a preference for JD Edwards or SAP.
- Competency in using Microsoft Office packages, with a thorough understanding of Excel.
- Professional personal presentation, planning and organizational skills.
- Self-motivated, attention to detail, focused, and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines.
- Strong internal and external interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to exercise appropriate judgment and decision making.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality with regards to company information.
