AddressPaddock to Port is a Container Management & Transport business based in the western suburbs of Melbourne. We offer a range of services for our clients, from container management to quarantine and warehousing.
Reporting to the Managing Director, this role is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional to join a successful business. We are seeking a forward thinking, hands on professional.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overseeing and managing all aspects of the finance department
- Lead a small finance team
- Ensuring the completion of the General Ledger and Balance Sheet reconciliations and production of the P&L statements are completed in a timely manner
- Preparation of monthly results including commentary around variance to budget
- Preparation of finance papers for the MD
- Management of annual budget and forecasting
- Cashflow forecasting
- Preparing the annual accounts for external accountants
- Submitting taxation returns such as BAS, and GST and liaison with external tax specialists
- Liaising with the banks
- Providing commentary and analysis around the company’s performance to the management team
- Providing financial advice to Senior Management team regarding initiatives to improve the company’s financial performance
- Be involved in ad-hoc finance projects in conjunction with the Business Manager
- Completing the weekly payroll, and meet all EOY reconciliations and associated reporting requirements.
- Bookkeeping requirements
- Entering invoices for payment
- Completing weekly payment runs
- Budgeting for payment runs
- Invoicing to customers
- Controlling accounts receivable
- Handling finance questions from suppliers and customers
- Daily bank reconciliations
Experience & Skills
- Minimum of 5 years’ industry experience in the finance industry
- Advanced knowledge of XERO
